The high-altitude Lake Udziro, stunning with its exquisite views, is located in the historically important mountain region of Racha. The region is often called "Georgian Switzerland." A beautiful view opens up from the lake, as it is situated at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level between the Katitsvera and Dolomisi mountain peaks. You can spend the night on the shore of Lake Udziro.
For travelers who have climbed to the heights, there is a specially designated area where they can comfortably set up a tent.
This is a hiking route that amazes even the most seasoned travelers with its beauty. The water in the lake is so clean and transparent that from the side, you can see the reflection of the Caucasus Mountains. However, the path to the lake is difficult and is not suitable for beginner mountain explorers. Looking at a photograph, one might think it is a painted picture rather than real beauty created by nature!

Detailed plan of our journey
Day 1
On the scheduled day, we leave Tbilisi in the morning. Departure from any other city in Georgia is discussed in advance. The route starts from Glola village. The ascent is very steep; on the first day, we need to walk for 7–8 hours. But it's worth it! When we reach the lake, you will be amazed by the beautiful view. Upon arrival at the lake, it makes sense to set up camp.
Day 2
The next day, we will take photos, enjoy the surroundings, and definitely climb to the top of the northern hill. From here, a special view of the Caucasus mountains opens up. On the way back, we will need about 5–6 hours. The total distance of the route that you will have to cover is about 15 km. From equipment, you will need a tent, a mat, and a sleeping bag. We will organize all of this!
