Samtskhe-Javakheti is a region of Georgia located in the south of the country, bordering Armenia and Turkey. The main historical attractions are the Vardzia cave city and the Borjomi resort with its world-famous mineral water. It is a must to see all of this with your own eyes. Our program is packed and very interesting.
History and a country are not the stories of others, not media articles, and not book texts. History and a country are people, and the closer you get to know them, the better you understand and accept these concepts. And the people in this region are wonderful and rich with stories!

A stop at one of Georgia's oldest fortresses, towering over the confluence of two turbulent rivers
Detailed plan of our journey
Day 1
Just 160 km from Tbilisi, the Borjomi resort awaits us with its healing springs and coniferous forests. We will visit the "Green monastery" (Mtsvane) — a revived cultural monument of national importance, and the grand Rabat fortress of the 12th century with a unique combination of Christian and Moorish architecture. The day will end in Akhaltsikhe: with a dinner with homemade wine and a rest in a cozy family house.
Day 2
The morning will begin with a visit to the Sapara monastery — a hidden gem of the region with unique ancient frescoes. On the way to our main goal, we will stop at the majestic Khertvisi fortress to enjoy panoramic views. The key point of the day is the cave city of Vardzia: you will explore multi-story rock labyrinths and see a rare life-time portrait of queen Tamar. After lunch at the best local restaurant, we will return to Tbilisi.
