Environmental actions in Georgia: cleaning up trash in Tbilisi

Environmental action in Tbilisi Dendropark united dozens of people

In Tbilisi, a large-scale environmental action to clean up the territory of the Dendropark took place. More than 70 people participated in the initiative, the goal of which was to clear the natural area of trash and draw attention to the environmental problem.

Initially, a small meeting was planned, but the number of participants exceeded expectations. As a result of the joint work, more than 100 bags of trash were collected, and the waste was sorted for further recycling.

The action took place in a friendly atmosphere. Participants not only engaged in cleaning but also helped homeless animals, communicated, and got to know each other. This became an example of how joint efforts can bring real benefits to nature and society.

Who helped organize the cleanup

The environmental action took place thanks to the joint efforts of volunteers and environmental organizations.

Participants in the organization included:
  • Parki ar minda
  • Tbilisi Cleanups
  • Gingers.ge

Transfer was also organized for participants, and volunteers received the necessary instructions and support. Such initiatives show that the environmental movement in Georgia is actively developing and uniting more and more people.

Environmental initiatives in Georgia

The Dendropark cleanup is just one example of the environmental initiatives implemented in Georgia in recent years.

One of the most significant was the trash situation at the Kazbek base camp. Thanks to public initiative and drawing attention to the problem, the authorities organized the removal of trash using a helicopter.
In total, about 20 tons of waste were removed.

This case became an important precedent and proved that the initiatives of ordinary people can lead to real changes at the state level.

For many participants of environmental actions, caring for nature has become a part of everyday life.
During hikes and trekking, volunteers regularly collect trash left by other people. Even one collected bag of waste is a contribution to preserving nature.

Such actions form a new culture of responsibility and a careful attitude toward the environment.
Even one person can start changes. It is with small actions that big environmental projects begin.
Caring for nature is a contribution to the future.

The organizers plan to continue holding environmental actions and invite everyone interested to participate.

Such initiatives help make Georgia cleaner and preserve its natural heritage for future generations.
